Fundacion Joan Miro

My guide Last update 1 year ago
Joan Miro was born in the Catalonian city of Barcelona in 1893. The Fundacion Joan Miro lies in Montjuic Park and houses many works by this unique modern artist. The building of the museum was commissioned by Miro himself. He envisaged it as a centre where the public could become acquainted with modern art and, of course, with Miro's own work. The Spanish painter, graphic artist, sculptor and ceramicist occupies a distinct place among the artists of the first half of the twentieth century.
