San Silvestre Vallecana

My guide Last update 1 year ago
The San Silvestre Vallecana marathon is held on 31 December every year. This New Year's Day tradition involves a 10 kilometre run through the Vallecas district. It was organized for the first in 1964. These days the marathon is sponsored by Nike. There are two categories: an amateur race which starts at 6 o'clock and a professional race which starts at 9. The marathon is a very popular event and increasing numbers of people are taking part each year. If you feel like a final burst of energy before the new year, get your sports shoes on and get running!
