Zwolf Apostelkeller

My guide Last update 1 year ago
No stay in Vienna is complete without a visit to one of the numerous heuringer, the typical Austrian wine cellars. It's a pleasant jaunt to the wine cellars on the city outskirts, but if you prefer to stay nearer the centre, your best option is Zwolf Apostelkeller. Located in one of Vienna's most charming alleyways, this 14th century restaurant is a good example of a genuine wine cellar. The traditional atmosphere (so prized by tourists) marries perfectly with the Schweinsbraten mit Speckkrautsalat. Get there after 19.00 p.m., when live accordion music makes the picture complete.
