In 1896 schonk Andrew Usher de stad Edinburgh \u00a3 100.000 om een concerthal te bouwen. Helaas heeft hij de opening in 1914 niet meer kunnen meemaken. In 2010 vond de laatste renovatie plaats en werd een vleugel t.b.v. hospitality van het bedrijfsleven geopend. De Usher Hall is \u00e9\u00e9n van de meest toonaangevende concertzalen ter wereld. Het legendarische Ushet Organ, gebouwd van Spaans mahoniehout, is de eyecatcher van de concertzaal en wordt gebruikt voor concerten en recitals. De Beaux Arts concertzaal is een architectonisch juweeltje en staat bekend om de geweldige akoestiek. Wereldberoemde artiesten traden hier op. Uiteenlopend van Ella Fitzgerald tot The Rolling Stones. Het muziekprogramma van de concertzaal wordt voor 50% gevormd door klassieke muziek. De Usher Hall is de thuishaven van het Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Behalve muziek worden er ook lezingen,congressen en comedy optredens verzorgd.
