De berg Olympus bevindt zich in het zuidwesten van Thessaloniki en is de hoogste berg van Griekenland (2917 meter). De Griekse dichter Homerus noemde de Olympus het \u2018Huis van de Goden\u2019. Die zouden daar in luxe paleizen wonen met bronzen vloeren. Op de berg vind je 1700 verschillende verschillende bloemen en planten en een grote verscheidenheid aan vogels en andere dieren. De berg is sinds 1938 bestempeld als nationaal park en anders dan de berg\u00a0Athos kan iedereen deze rotspartij beklimmen.
