Het is je vast niet ontgaan, de hoge paraplu sculptuur op het strand aan de haven van Thessaloniki. Deze dertien meter hoge kunstzinnige creatie ligt vlakbij het Macedonia Palaca hotel en is ontworpen in 1997 door Georgios Zoggolopoulos. De beeldhouwkunstenaar overleed in 2004 en is maar liefst 101 jaar oud geworden. Het is een echte ontmoetingsplek in de stad en geliefd bij zowel locals als toeristen. Zoggolopoulos stond bekend als een kunstenaar die altijd paraplu\u2019s liet terugkomen in zijn werk.
