Een ritje met de kleurrijke busjes in Paramaribo is al een hele ervaring op zich en ontzettend leuk om een keer mee te maken. Het werkt zo: stap op bij de Waterkant en ga zitten. De bus vertrekt pas als hij vol is! Bordjes met bustijden zijn daarom ook nergens in Paramaribo te vinden. Evenals bushaltes; wil je eruit, steek dan je hand op en roep heel hard: STOP! De bus stopt dan meteen aan de kant van de weg. Geef hem bij het uitstappen en paar dollarcent, het maakt niet uit hoeveel. Wil je aan een willekeurige weg opstappen, steek dan je hand op.
