Ben je in het bezit van een auto, verken dan vooral de prachtige omgeving om het land zo nog beter te leren kennen. Op slechts tien minuten van de Surinaamse hoofdstad ligt bijvoorbeeld Leonsberg, pal aan de Surinamerivier. Vanuit hier varen veel touroperator uit voor een dagtocht om dolfijnen te spotten, vistochten te maken of plantagetochten. Wil je het openluchtmuseum van Nieuw-Amsterdam bezoeken of Mari&euml;nburg, dan zul je ook met de boot vanuit Leonsberg vertrekken.
