Een fenomeen waar je direct tijdens je eerste avond in Paramaribo bekend mee zult raken, is de boembus. Deze gekleurde busjes rijden 's avonds en 's nachts door de straten van Paramaribo, te herkennen aan de kei harde muziek die ervan af komt. Bovenop het open dak staan tientallen studenten, locals en toeristen te dansen op de muziek. Je kunt opstappen op een boembus vanaf restaurant Zanzibar op de Van Sommelsdijckstraat 1 rond een uurtje of 23.00 uur. De boembus zet je weer af bij Touché, zodat je hier verder kunt feesten.
