Zeeën van ruimte ervaar je op het H\u0151sök tere of het Heldenplein. Dit uitgestrekte plein ligt aan het einde (of begin) van de Andrássy út en staat symbool voor het 19e eeuwse Hongaarse nationalisme en herdenkt degenen die zijn omgekomen voor de nationale vrijheid en onafhankelijkheid. Op het plein staat het Millennium Monument, een 45 meter hoge zuil met daarop de aartsengel Gabriël. De nationale symbolen van Hongarije, een patriarchaal kruis en de Szent Korona (Stefanskroon), houdt hij vast in zijn handen. Aan beide kanten van het monument staan standbeelden van beroemde Hongaren, waaronder ook koningen.
