Het ligt in het centrum van de stad, ingesloten tussen de IJzerenleen en de rivier de Dijle.&nbsp;<\/strong>Op deze markt werd in 1531 voor het eerst vis verhandeld, nadat de vishandelaars van de IJzerenleen werden verdreven wegens de nare geur. Vandaag de dag vind je hier nog steeds een aantal vishandels. Maar in de late uurtjes wordt het pas echt gezellig op de het plein en de aangrenzende Nauwstraat.
