Het historische stadscentrum wordt nog steeds omringd door de oorspronkelijke stadsmuur en daarbuiten de groene omgeving.<\/strong> In Goslar vind je maar liefst 1500 vakwerkhuizen en smalle steegjes; het is daarmee &eacute;&eacute;n van de best bewaard gebleven historische steden in Duitsland en de wereld. Tijdens een bezoek lijkt het of je een tijdreis hebt gemaakt helemaal terug naar de Middeleeuwen; niet alleen door de vakwerkhuizen uit de 15e tot 19e eeuw, maar ook door de indrukwekkende torens van de romaanse kerk Marktkirche en het keizerlijke paleis, de Kaiserpfalz. Hier is zelfs nog de originele bronzen keizerskroon uit de 11e eeuw te bewonderen. Bij de Schunhhof en Marktplatz zijn genoeg restaurants en terrassen te vinden om even bij te komen.
