De boeken collectie bij the Literary and Philosopical is overweldigend! De wanden van de galerij zijn tot aan het plafon bekleed met boeken, er staan er meer als 160.000. In 1793 werd er een praatclub opgericht die graag bijeen kwam om over boeken te praten. Het verzamelen van de boeken startte dan ook rond die tijd en is uitgegroeid tot de gigantische collectie waarover the Lit &amp; Phil nu beschik. Naast de collectie aan historische boeken heeft the Society ook boeken en muziek uit deze tijd.
