Istanbul Biennial

My guide Last update 1 year ago
The theme "What Keeps Mankind Alive?" of the 11th International Istanbul Biennial, is derived from Bertolt Brecht's opera 'Die Dreigroschenoper" of 1928. But the organisers of the event explain that this question is of an even greater importance today. Artists are being encouraged to portray their idea of the human motivation, in which Brecht's Marxist background could form an important contrast with today's (often criticized) capitalism. Expect an extremely social and critical work of art, challenging you to rethink the present world visions.
