Casa Batlló

My guide Last update 1 year ago
© Casa Batllo Gaudi Barcelona Facebook
One of Anton Gaudi's better known buildings. Like Casa Mila, this building is located on the celebrated Passeig de GrÏ cia. The house is not the product of Gaudi's hand alone. From 1905 to 1907 he undertook its rebuilding on behalf of a wealthy Spanish textile baron, and it stands between houses of a rather more simple design. As with the maestro's other projects, there is not a corner or straight line in sight, only beautiful rounded forms. Interesting note: Casa Batlló is owned by the Bernat family, known among other things for the familiar Chupa Chups lollipops. See also this building's impressive website.
